Christian Nikolov remains in custody, the Sofia Municipal Court ruled minutes ago. For the first time, the young man accused of the accident that killed Milen Tsvetkov physically appeared before the magistrates.

In the courtroom, he announced that he had expressed his condolences to Tsvetkov’s relatives. And he blamed the media for pressuring him. And the prosecution recalled that Christian Nikolov was behind the wheel drugged, driving at excessive speed and did not take any action to stop at a red light. The court was adamant: if you leave pre-trial detention, Nikolov can hide. The decision can be appealed to the court of appeal.
