Former Levski midfielder Jordi Gómez has entered the history of the Europa League. The Spaniard, who is the captain of Cypriot Omonia, scored a 56-meter goal at PSV Eindhoven’s gate. Gomez and his teammates, however, lost 1: 2.

Gomez, 35, gave Omonia the lead in the 29th minute. The main referee conceded a direct free kick a few meters behind the center line, and the Spaniard immediately executed and transferred the guard to Yvonne Mvogo of the Netherlands.

Just a week ago, Glasgow Rangers forward Kemar Ruuf scored 49.92 meters and became the player with the longest goal in the history of the Europa League. However, Gómez improved his achievement with his 56 meters and topped the historical classification.
