Bulgarian doctor in Sweden: people don’t wear masks, access to COVID-19 tests is not easy – Society

The situation in Sweden is calm. The number of patients is also growing here, but not at the rate since the beginning of the pandemic, the months of April, May and June, when the situation was almost unbearable. This was said at BNT by the Bulgarian urologist Dr. Krassimir Katsarski, who is on the front lines of the fight against coronavirus in Sweden.

“Last week, of 142,000 analyzed, the percentage of patients with COVID-19 was 3.7. The age group of 19 to 20 years is the most affected, followed by the group of 20 to 29 years,” he continued.

According to him, hospitals function normally: intensive care units are not overloaded and the measures taken by the government are not as restrictive.

“Nobody is required to wear a mask. You will not see masked people on the streets, in public places, in restaurants. It is entirely based on social distance: people try to maintain a distance of at least 2 meters in shops and transport public, “explained Dr. Katsarski.

He stressed that access to evidence is not easy. The test is performed only in case of symptoms and at the discretion of the personal physician.

“People in Sweden are not panicking by the statistics and the increasing numbers of figures, and the news in the media has been limited recently,” added the Bulgarian doctor.
