During his participation in a discussion with the residents of Plovdiv on “COVID-19 in the present and the question of the future”, Prof. Dr. Atanas Mangarov said that closing schools, stadiums and parks is complete nonsense.
At the beginning of the meeting, he stated that he was present at the discussion as a doctor and not as a politician. According to him, what is happening now is like what happened in Germany in the 1930s, as a result of which an era began. He allowed himself to describe what was happening as “medical fascism.”
According to him, most of those lying in covid compartments can be at home. He mentioned that 85% of those infected were asymptomatic, 15% with flu-like symptoms and only 4-5% with symptoms that may require hospitalization.
Associate Professor Mangarov believes that society has two ways of dealing with the situation. One is “Life goes on” and that’s when people keep working and the pace of their daily life doesn’t change. The second way is the “Chinese way”, in which entire cities and even countries are closed, life stops indefinitely and the economy goes to the movies.
