Usurers beat their debtors. So say the victims of the criminal group, which was mentioned in one of the last actions of the CDCOC and the Special Prosecutor’s Office in the capital.
The gang of Roma barons Metón y Traicho brutally beat and forcibly confiscated the property of the people to whom they granted loans. And not only that: they misappropriated foreign social benefits and dealt in drugs.
“Metodi and Traiko Stoyanov killed my upper and lower teeth with a metal bat,” Ivan Borisov was quoted as saying by Nova TV.
The victims are victims of Traiko Stoyanov, Metodi Dimitrov and their relatives. The criminal group was dissolved in early October, during a large-scale operation by the Special Prosecutor’s Office and the CDCOC.
According to investigators, for six years the detainees were involved in usury, beat debtors, forcibly confiscated property and sold drugs in various districts of the capital. There are reports that they have also profited from the prostitution business.
“They literally dealt with everything that generates illegal income,” said Valentina Madjarova, administrative head of the specialized prosecutor’s office.
Its main income came from usury, researchers say. The group’s so-called Tartars – Meto and Traicho had pawnshops and quick loan companies in various districts of the capital. To receive a loan, their clients had to give them their homes.
“When you need a loan, money, they give you a small amount, but on the condition that you have transferred the property to their person so that they grant you the desired amount. And now the ownership of the property is in your hands, regardless of whether you will repay the loan or not.
When the deadline came to bear fruit, they told him that the property had caught fire, ”said one of the victims, who requested anonymity.
“A boy approached them and said, I bet my apartment, I want BGN 5,000, to buy a taxi and work. They give him 5,000 BGN, the next day he transfers his apartment, they sell him this apartment and the child continues to pay interest. And when he finds out that his apartment has been sold, he goes there because of a scandal, but they beat him up and he is silent about this case, “said Ivan Borisov.
There are dozens of homeless people, but out of fear, not all have complained to the police. Ivan Borisov also claims that Meto and Traicho deceived him. He was late with his loan installments and through a private bailiff the two took over his house.
