Heat pump, wood or charcoal heating will also be the cheapest this winter. This is demonstrated by data from the Agency for Sustainable Energy Development. From there they explain that this type of heating will cost us between 5 and 7 stotinki per kilowatt hour. The leading position in the ranking is occupied by heating with air conditioning.

According to NSI data, the trend of warming with solid fuels is still leading in Bulgaria.

“The most used are firewood, coal and electricity. The leading position of solid fuel as a source of heating in winter, experts explain the lower income of a part of the population. Forced to switch to heating with solid fuels, and very often no firewood was even bought on the market and the waste was collected in some way, “explains Lyudmil Kostadinov, chief expert at the Agency for Sustainable Energy Development.

In recent years, heating solid fuels has become a problem for Sofia due to high levels of fine dust particles. Polluted air is the main reason why the municipality of Sofia replaces old stoves from homes that cannot afford it.

Desislava Bileva, Deputy Mayor of the Municipality of Sofia with the Department of “Environment”, said: “The approximate number of households that we expect is more than 10,000. As of October 8, households that submitted an application and approved more than 5,000 and 500 “.

The conditions for requesting the replacement of old stoves are that the home is heated with solid domestic fuel, has a document of ownership of the property and has no unpaid taxes and fees. It turned out that the municipality also offers help to schools in the capital.

The 170th “Vasil Levski” Secondary School in Novi Iskar is one of 9 schools chosen by the Municipality of Sofia for the implementation of energy efficiency measures. Replacing the boiler and renovating the building saves about 40 percent of your heating costs and reinvests them.

The funds for the school were provided free of charge under the “Regional Development” operational program.
