The priorities of the “Budget 2021” are an increase of the minimum salary from BGN 610 – to BGN 650, as of January 1, 2021. A further BGN 10 million has been provided – for an active labor market policy; 300 million BGN – for the continuation of measure “60/40”; BGN 297.3 million – for the increase in funds for short-term unemployment benefits (the increase from BGN 9 to BGN 12 of the minimum daily amount of unemployment benefit); BGN 73 million – for specific assistance for families with children up to 14 years old with distance education and exhausted opportunities for paid parental leave and inability to work remotely; BGN 390 million – for eliminating the income criterion for access to monthly childcare allowances until completion of secondary education; BGN 10 million – for specific heating subsidies; BGN 21.4 million: to update financial support for people with disabilities under the Personal Assistance Act; 122 million BGN – for the personal assistance mechanism of the same law and 79.7 million BGN – for the “Auxiliar de Apoyo” social service, as an activity delegated by the State; BGN 47 million: for a one-time financial support for food products in the amount of BGN 120 per year for pensioners with a pension amount of BGN 300 to BGN 369 (poverty line for 2021)
An additional 474 million BGN has been provided in the 2021 Budget – to increase the amount of the minimum pension for seniority and seniority from 250 BGN – to 300 BGN, as of January 1, 2021; 94 million BGN – for an increase in the maximum amount of one or more pensions received from BGN 1,200 – to BGN 1,440, as of January 1, 2021; 884.2 million BGN – for measures related to modernization and calculation of pensions, incl. and for the payment of pensions throughout the year with the new update of 5% as of July 1, 2021; BGN 318 million: for the payment of pension supplements to all pensioners until March 2021.

Unions and employers’ organizations – CEIBG supported the 2021 budget proposals, expressing comments and proposals for changes. BICA and BIA did not support it and BCCI and SSE abstained.
