The journalist of the daily “Sega” Martin Georgiev was summoned for questioning by the police due to a reference in the Land Registry. The reporter was summoned to the Sixth Regional Police Department in the capital by order of the Sofia District Prosecutor’s Office, which is handling a file on a complaint from former NSO guard Kalin Gadzhev. He was the bodyguard of the honorary leader of MRF Ahmed Dogan. The employee was one of the two who expelled “Democratic Bulgaria” co-president Hristo Ivanov from the beach near “Rosenets” in early July.
A simple reference
The journalist was cited in a report posted on Facebook about Gadzhev’s property status. The information was not released by Georgiev himself, nor did he write anything about the property of Dogan’s bodyguard. However, he made a reference to the Land Registry shortly after the scandal near Rosenets. After verifying those interested in Gadzhev’s property, the police located him. The reference in the registry is completely free and anyone can make it online for a fee of 1 lev.
Georgiev told Mediapool that the investigating police officer was very nice. The journalist stated that he had not published a report on Gadzhev’s property status.
Broken windows
Dogan’s bodyguard filed a complaint shortly after the incident near Rosenets, Mediapool learned. Then the windows of the car and his apartment were smashed.
Gadzhev was one of the most active participants in the expulsion of Ivanov from the beach near Dogan’s summer barn. Subsequently, the military prosecution launched an investigation, but refused to open an investigation against the NSO guards. Their argument is that while they have committed rapes (eg, refusing to identify themselves), there is no evidence of crime.
Interrogation number 2
This is Georgiev’s second interrogation in a month and a half. A few weeks ago, the journalist was summoned on another absurd occasion: questions sent by him to the press center of the Ministry of the Interior. It was about being armed with boxing policemen who beat up protesters. These photos appeared on social media and Georgiev asked if the Interior Ministry had verified the violations committed by the officials. Instead of responding, the police summoned him for questioning and explained that they had taken the email as a signal.
Neither the Interior Ministry nor the Prosecutor’s Office gave any explanation about his second interrogation on Monday.
