On Tuesday last week, she was admitted to MHAT-Shumen for treatment, but doctors were unable to save her. Ivanova had diabetes. His sister is currently in home quarantine.

“So far, there have been four cases of teachers with a positive coronavirus test. One recovers, but the colleague was not so lucky” – says Todorov principal tearfully.

The 49-year-old woman and her 46-year-old sister graduated from Special Education and both worked with children with special educational needs in high school. Last Friday they felt bad, they had a fever and a cough.

At age 20, Ludmila was admitted to hospital, where her condition worsened and on Saturday she was taken to the intensive care unit. He died Sunday night despite medical attention.

“His sister is in quarantine in a house in a town near Shumen, yesterday I went to bring him food because they have no other relatives, his parents have died. Ivelina is better, Lyudmila has had a more serious illness, because she also had concomitant diabetes ”, explained Todorov.

On Monday, experts from RHI and RWU in Shumen inspected the high school. According to his instructions, a complete disinfection of the school building will take place on Friday. So far, no high school kids have tested positive, only two are in quarantine, but due to positive tests in families. PCR testing of staff and students will not be conducted as the amount is not affordable for the high school budget.

The coronavirus took a second victim in teaching circles in northeast Bulgaria on Sunday. A 49-year-old teacher, wife of the head of the local Regional Education Inspectorate, died as a result of COVID-19 disease at Razgrad hospital, the website razgrad24-7.com reported.

She is a teacher at Nikola Yonkov Vaptsarov Primary School in Razgrad. From the first moment she felt bad, the teacher was hospitalized and quarantined. She was later diagnosed and had no contact with students or colleagues. Only her husband was quarantined.

Last week, the woman’s condition worsened and she had to be hospitalized, passing away on Sunday. A week ago, it was announced that a beloved teacher from the First Sofia University “St. Sedmochislenitsi” in Targovishte had died. The woman, older than 60 years, developed temporary pneumonia. Due to the spread of the infection, schools in Targovishte switched to online training.
