A statement from the Plovdiv District Prosecutor’s Office indicated that the Rakovski Police Department had detained a 36-year-old man and charged with robbery by an elderly man.

Geshev set goals for the end of the year

On October 23, 2020, in the town of Rakovski, around 9:30 p.m., an unknown man entered the home of the 72-year-old victim, who was later identified as the perpetrator GM, a criminal. He jumped the fence and went through the open door of the home of the retiree, who lived alone. GM entered the old man’s room, who was in bed, watching TV and reading a newspaper. The perpetrator asked for money. The moment the victim handed him a BGN 5 note, GM began to remove the jacket from his hands, from which the pensioner took the money. The defendant shuffled his outer garment and took another BGN 90 from his pockets. Then he began to search the room for other money and valuables. While overturning the bed mattress, he tripped and fell, allowing the victim to escape the house and seek help at a nearby store, where they reported to the police. Meanwhile, GM grabbed a bottle of whiskey, an electric chainsaw, and left the apartment.
