Coronavirus in Bulgaria: hospitals in some regions will limit admission and surgery – Bulgaria

Medical establishments in districts with morbidity greater than 120 people per 100,000 inhabitants suspend the planned admission and the planned operational activity. All medical establishments in them are required to disclose COVID structures with a minimum of 10% of the total number of beds they have. This was ordered by Health Minister Kostadin Angelov in a new order, which comes into effect on October 25 (Sunday). It comes amid staff shortages in health centers and requires students and doctors outside of hospitals to be involved in treating those infected.

The order establishes that in the hospitals of the districts with a morbidity of 60 to 119.9 people per 100 thousand inhabitants, the planned operational activity is suspended. These hospitals must disclose COVID structures with a minimum of 5% of the total number of beds available.

The prohibition on scheduled admission and scheduled surgery does not apply to organ, tissue and cell transplantation, diagnosis and treatment of patients with oncological and oncohematological diseases, assisted reproduction and childbirth.

Regional governors and local self-government bodies are in charge of organization and control. It is recalled that they have the right to introduce additional measures.

And not as a relationship between the number of patients and the population of the area.
