President Rumen Radev presented orders to prominent Bulgarians for their important services in the field of culture at a ceremony in Dondukov 2. However, the head of state did not award the editor-journalist Petyo Blaskov. In late September, the cabinet proposed him to the Order of St. St. Cyril and Methodius ”- a merit necklace in journalism.
With the order “St. St. Cyril and Methodius” – a necklace was given to Prof. Elena Kuteva-Tapkova, director of the State Folklore Ensemble “Philip Kutev”, film director, poet and translator Maya Vaptsarova, folk singer and longtime soloist of the Tatiana “Pirin” Folklore Ensemble.
With the order “St. St. Cyril and Methodius” – the first title was awarded to journalist and traveler Simeon Idakiev, Vanya Grashkina-Mincheva, who is among the founders of the Bulgarian Library and Information Association and current executive director of the National Center for Information and Documentation under the Ministry of Education and Science, and the choreographer and leader of the “Bulgare” folk ensemble Hristo Dimitrov.
President Radev said in his speech that the awards are an expression of our society’s recognition for the exceptional merits of the winners for establishing Bulgarian spirituality and for building core values.
The president pointed out that they have accepted talent, culture, and spiritual origin as the basis for the development of the nation and have educated their many students, followers and thousands of audiences in this spirit. Rumen Radev also said that the award-winning artists continue with an enviable energy to affirm ideals in times of technological and material aspiration. They give us moral strength and hope that borders and crises cannot stop the creative mind and the spirit of discovery.
The president stressed that he continues to support her noble idea of building a hall in Bulgaria in line with her Bulgarian talent, culture and spirituality.
