“The world is on the brink of a tectonic shift,” Vladimir Putin said in his traditional annual address at the Valdai discussion club.

He said Moscow was ready to work with the next American administration, regardless of who heads it after the presidential election.
Vladimir Putin expressed the hope that individual states can unite, fight for hell with real, not imagined, threats to humanity.
According to him, the global role of the United States has diminished, along with that of Great Britain and France, while Beijing (China) and Berlin (Germany) begin to gain superpower status in terms of their political and economic weight.
In light of the November 3 US presidential election, Putin said he hoped the new White House administration would be ready for a dialogue on security and nuclear weapons control.
