A 76-year-old man was killed in a frontal collision of two cars on a straight stretch of the Aytos – Rouen highway. Two more people have minor injuries. Due to the accident, the Rouen Pass remained closed for several hours, Nova TV reported.
Shortly before noon, two cars collided head-on on a straight stretch of road. One was run by a 48-year-old man from Silistra and the other by a 76-year-old man from Aytos. His 73-year-old wife was also in the car.
“The culprit is the elderly driver of the Citroen car, which was traveling from Aytos in the direction of Provadia, who, according to the testimony, entered the opposite lane without any reason and collided head-on with the car that was circulating there in the direction of Aytos”, explained. the spokesperson for the OD of the Interior Ministry – Burgas Tsvetelina Randeva.
Witnesses to the incident came to the rescue to get people out of the cars. They had to cut the sheets to boil the old driver.
“They fired me up, I slowed down and I saw the accident and stopped. I started helping people, “said a witness to the accident.
The three victims of the traffic accident were transferred to the Burgas General Hospital.
“Two of them are in good general condition, with only soft tissue injuries,” said Dr. Lachezar Atanasov.
Despite the efforts of medical teams in a crash room in the early afternoon, Aytos’ 76-year-old driver died.
