Grigor Dimitrov begins his participation in the ATP 250 tournament tonight, since his opponent will be the Spanish Pablo Anduhar, who is below №55 in the world rankings. This will be Dimitrov’s first match in the tournament as the Bulgarian is one of the top four ranked players in the scheme and as such qualifies directly for the round of 16.
In yesterday’s match, Anduhar had to face Kay Nishikori, but the Japanese withdrew from the tournament with a shoulder injury. Thus, the “happy loser” system assigned the Spaniard a much lighter rival for the 86th World Cup Federico Coria. Anduhar definitely beat the Argentine with 6-2, 6-3 and thus arrived at today’s clash with our first rocket.
Grigor Dimitrov’s statistics against Pablo Anduhar are quite positive. The two have four games between them, and the Bulgarian has triumphed in three of them. Their last meeting was at the Beijing tournament in 2014, and the match ended with a score of 6-4, 6-4 in favor of Dimitrov.

2-2 – Game four of the marathon turned out to be the most dramatic of the match so far, as the two opponents traded lead multiple times. Dimitrov controlled the initiative for most of the playoffs, but Anduhar showed great defense and ultimately proved decisive for the Spaniard’s success in the match.
3-2 – The failure in the fourth game did not discourage Grigor Dimitrov. On the contrary, the Bulgarian again showed a very aggressive and offensive game, to which Anduhar had no response this time and Dimitrov came out ahead in the result again.
3-3 – Anduhar began to play much more offensively and this tactic by the Spaniard surprised Dimitrov. Anduhar made some very successful outings at the net and ended the game with a huge winning backhand from the back of the court.

The Bulgarian’s stubbornness paid off as he reached a turning point at the most important moment, after which he won the match with a graceful backhand, leaving no chances for Anduhar.
