Consumers must be especially careful in a global pandemic. After the European Commission declared COVID an emergency, passengers can no longer claim if the flight is canceled or delayed due to a pandemic. This was explained to BNT by Sonya Spasova, director of the European Consumer Center – Bulgaria.

He added that due to the pandemic, some of the hotels in Europe did not open at all, although there was an option to reserve. In these cases, the conditions of the reservation itself apply, Spasova explained.

People can come to us when they have a problem with a foreign merchant. They can claim their rights before the CPC when the problem is with a Bulgarian trader, explained the expert.

In the EU, consumers are protected when it comes to buying, whether physical or online. When we buy something online, we can return it within 14 days, but it is very important that we do not use the product, added the expert.
