Starting today, Pleven University of Medicine will move to e-learning over a two-week period. So far, 17 students have positive PCR tests, investigation of contact persons continues, BNR reports.

In relation to the complex and dynamic epidemic situation in health facilities in the region and throughout the country and in order to protect the health of higher education students and teachers, the academic direction decided to move entirely to e-learning for two weeks, starting October 19. Only the training of doctors in training in the sixth year of “Medicine” will be carried out in person and on time.

For teachers and staff, the work process will also continue in person. Student access to the university buildings is restricted. The use of the medical library and the sports center is suspended. The measure is preventive.

Currently, about 1,400 Bulgarian and foreign students study at the Medical University. As of yesterday, a total of 17 students tested positive, said Velina Dukova, a public relations expert. All contact persons continue to be investigated.
