Karakachanov: A project of armored vehicles for the Special Forces has been approved

A Special Forces armored vehicle project has been approved and will be implemented. This was announced by Defense Minister Krassimir Karakachanov, reports btv.

The project is worth approximately BGN 50 million and foresees the purchase of about 150 machines for various modernization purposes.

“The machines will be manufactured in Bulgaria, because my policy has always been: what can be manufactured in our country, what can be manufactured in our country. What can be maintained in Bulgaria, must be done here,” added Karakachanov.

Minister Karakachanov participated in the celebration of the military paratroopers, celebrating 76 years since his baptism of fire in Strazhin.

President Rumen Radev also attended the ceremony, which took place in front of the paratroopers’ memorial on the National Assembly Square., Admiral Chief of Defense Emil Eftimov, senior officers, representatives of patriotic military organizations and citizens.

“When we talk about projects for the development of the capabilities of the Special Forces, as well as organizational and structural changes, I emphasize that they are the result of analysis and proposals approved by the state and military leadership,” said Emil Eftimov.

Defense Minister Karakachanov also highlighted the efforts made in recent years to modernize the Special Forces: “Command was given, the rank of commander of the 68th Brigade was raised. The fourth group of special operations in the region of Sofia. The necessary funds are allocated. The Tsrancha landfill has been repaired. Much has been done and these efforts must continue, “Krassimir Karakachanov commented.
