603 are the new cases of COVID-19 in Bulgaria during the last 24 hours. Most are from Sofia, Plovdiv and Burgas. In several cities across the country, coronavirus patient rooms are full or about to fill up, but are ready to open more beds for patients, bTV reported.
The wards at Burgas, Shumen, Gabrovo, Yambol, Haskovo, Blagoevgrad, Gotse Delchev and Vratsa hospitals are full or about to fill up, but work is underway to open additional beds.
There are already 1,484 people in the hospital. Another 10 people died, including a 42-year-old man who had no evidence of comorbid illness. 37 are freshly cured.
The introduction of new measures at the national level is not yet being considered, but local headquarters can introduce them. For example, the Municipality of Blagoevgrad, which falls into the highest risk red zone, prohibits weddings, baptisms and other types of celebrations from tomorrow, which attract many people.
Pernik, who falls into the yellow zone, celebrates. Monday is the city holiday and the festivities started this week. The pandemic does not bother merchants or visitors. People line up both in front of the outdoor grill and in front of the stalls.
The culmination is tomorrow. There will be celebrations throughout the day, some of them indoors.
A concert of popular artists is also planned in the evening.
“Pernik is in the golden environment of the infected. We strictly follow all the Minister’s orders, we have been given an explicit prescription to the RHI for the events accompanying the party,” said Municipality Deputy Mayor Stefan Krastev.
The RHI asked people to be careful and announced that controls for compliance with measures against the epidemic will be intensified.
At the other pole, in the red zone, where Bansko is, the effect of the recommendation not to travel there is already being felt.
“For us, the call is to respect personal measures, not to enter some areas,” said Malin Bistrin of the Bansko Union of Tourism Companies.
Bansko falls in the Blagoevgrad region, which is a red zone, but the municipality itself has two cases of COVID-19 in the past two months, according to local authorities.
This is how the number of hospital admissions has been growing since the beginning of the month:
September 29 – 780 people were admitted for treatment;
October 4 – 912 people are already in hospitals;
October 9 – 1063 people stay in a sanatorium;
October 11 – 1189 people;
October 17 – 1450 people;
The latest data to date: 1484 people.
Therefore, in about three weeks the growth almost doubles.
