Seventeen councils with departments such as Borisov 3 cabinet ministries will draft alternatives to the GERB government and the BSP electoral platform, which will be based on the so-called Vision for Bulgaria. Today in Positano 20 the presidents of the councils were elected, as well as two main commissions.
The Board of Governors, which includes the presidents of all councils, is chaired by leader Cornelia Ninova.
Yanaki Stoilov will head the BSP program and ideological development commission and will play the role of vice chairman of the party and former leader of Sofia Anna Yaneva’s organization, the party activities commission.
The leader of the Socialists in Shumen, Veselin Penchev, is in charge of internal affairs, and former BSP MP and MEP Evgeni Kirilov is in charge of external affairs.
Seven MPs will chair the councils: Krum Zarkov (justice), Tasko Ermenkov (energy), Georgi Svilenski (transport), Dimitar Danchev (economics), Ivan Chenchev (sports), Atanas Kostadinov (environment) and Georgi Yordanov (medical care). Deputy Georgi Gokov and former Minister of Social Affairs Emilia Maslarova share the presidency of the social council.
Journalist Svetlana Sherenkova takes charge of the media council, former MP Milko Bagdasarov takes charge of education and BSP vice president Atanas Zafirov takes charge of defense. Former city councilor Orlin Vitashki will chair the finance council, BSP leader in Pleven Svilen Atanasov on agriculture, Samokov mayor Vladimir Georgiev on regional development and BSP leader in Zlatograd Emil Humchev on tourism.
The headquarters of the elections will be chaired by the parliamentarian Georgi Svilenski, and his deputies will be the secretary of the party’s Executive Bureau, Vyara Emilova, the vice president of the BSP, Atanas Zafirov, and the parliamentarian Stoyan Mirchev.
The BSP National Council, which includes 185 people, decided it could meet online and the move was presented as a continuation of the party’s modernization and an opportunity for mayors to participate in meetings. Thus, in practice, it will not be noticed if there are problems with the quorum, the Socialists believe.
