Austria has introduced restrictions for those arriving from Bulgaria: the EU

Austria introduces measures for those arriving from 16 districts of Bulgaria and not, as before, for those arriving from the whole country. The restrictions will take effect on Saturday, October 17, according to the Foreign Ministry’s press center.

According to a new order of the Austrian Minister of Social Affairs, Health, Care and Consumer Protection, the entry of 16 Bulgarian regions / districts: Blagoevgrad, Burgas, Dobrich, Gabrovo, Yambol, Kardzhali, Montana, Plovdiv, Razgrad, Shumen , Sliven, Smolyan, Sofia, Stara Zagora, Targovishte and Varna will be implemented as before.

More than half of the EU and UK countries enter the Covid-19 red zone

This means that Bulgarians entering Austrian territory will have to have a negative PCR test that is no more than 72 hours old or quarantined for 10 days.

Self-isolation can be stopped with a negative in situ PCR test within 48 hours. Such measures are not required for those arriving from other Bulgarian regions.
