All pensions will be increased by 5% under the Swiss rule from July 1, 2021, according to the draft budget of the State Social Security for next year. On Friday, the Minister of Social Affairs, Denitsa Sacheva, announced that all pensions would increase by the same percentage and that the poorest retirees would receive more help with food stamps.
The idea of a different percentage increase of 5 or 10% depending on the amount of the pension in the next year was not approved, so the proposal of an equal percentage of updating the pension was reached.
“The proposal we have made from the Ministry of Social Affairs is not to have such a different percentage for the different pensions, but to support these people through social assistance with food vouchers, and the indicative amount will be specified in the coming days “Sacheva said. .
The proposed budget for next year anticipates from January 1 the minimum pension will be increased from BGN 250 to BGN 300, and the maximum from BGN 1,200 to BGN 1,440.
It is also provided that in the first 3 months of 2021 will continue to pay the supplements of BGN 50 to pensions to all retirees.
The minimum insurance income for self-insured will increase from BGN 610 to BGN 650, which will be the minimum wage next year. The maximum insurance income is kept at the level of this: 3,000 BGN..
The minimum insurance income for registered farmers and tobacco producers, 420 BGN, is also maintained.
Sacheva previously commented that all those who did not meet the deadline will have the opportunity to transfer their money from the second pillar of pensions to the National Institute of Social Security.
“Those who have currently missed the five-year term before retirement, yes, we will give them that opportunity. The debate will probably start as soon as we finish the budget issue,” he said.
