On the 97th day of protests demanding the resignation of the government of Boyko Borissov and Chief Prosecutor Ivan Geshev, the initiators of discontent with the Poison Trio announced that four MEPs would join the so-called fifth “Great Uprising of the People”, which will take place on October 16 (Friday). For another night, traffic at Independence Square and Eagle Bridge was blocked, although few people joined the protest.
Shortly after 7 p.m., people began to gather in the space between the presidency and the Council of Ministers. Shortly after, speeches by protesters and members of the Poison Trio began on the makeshift rostrum.
Poison Trio lawyer Nikolay Hadjigenov announced that four MEPs would join the great discontent looming on Friday, but did not name them.
