The ministers and unions discussed with Prime Minister Boyko Borissov the policy on income, minimum wages and pensions, it was clear from the direct inclusion on the Prime Minister’s Facebook page.
The meeting was in an empty field in the rain. In the course of the conversation, Borissov announced that the “levels” behind them would become the seventh reactor at the Kozloduy nuclear power plant.
The conversation was attended by the Ministers of Finance and Energy Kiril Ananiev and Temenuzhka Petkova, as well as Plamen Dimitrov from CITUB and Dimitar Manolov from Podkrepa and the head of the Nasko Mihov nuclear power plant.
A meeting of the National Council for Tripartite Cooperation is scheduled for today.
From the conversation it was not clear why the union representatives were with the prime minister in Kozloduy.
“I said that 2/3 of these things are our proposals, so I can not say anything else that I am satisfied,” said Plamen Dimitrov.
Plamen Dimitrov suggested that next year there should be a diversified scheme to increase pensions – the lower ones should be increased at a higher rate.
According to Kiril Ananiev, the draft budget foresees an increase in pensions next year for a total amount of more than 1.8 billion BGN. The minimum pension must be increased from BGN 250 to BGN 300. A 10% increase in two stages is anticipated for pensions below the poverty line (between BGN 300 and BGN 369). Pensions above BGN 369 will be increased by 5%.
No increase in maximum insurance earnings is anticipated, Ananiev added.
We anticipate a 10% increase in revenue, as in every year. BGN 360 million are for an increase in teachers’ salaries, Borissov added.
The cabinet will allocate 5 million BGN for the purchase of the drug remdezivir for the treatment of the coronavirus, it was clear in the conversation.
