The repair of two sections of the Northern Arch of the Sofia Ring Road with a total length of 3.8 km begins tomorrow with the introduction of the temporary traffic organization. Actual construction activities begin Wednesday.
The first section is after the junction of the road with the Northern Speed Tangent and is next to the junction of the village of Mirovyane and the district of Trebich. The second section, which will be repaired, is after the junction with the second-class road Novi Iskar – Svoge – Mezdra and ends before the junction with the Hadji Dimitar road in Novi Iskar.
While repairs are being made, which must be completed before winter, traffic will be stopped on these parts of the bypass. In this situation, traffic to Svoge will go through Rozhen Blvd. in Sofia, through the Trebich district and the city of Novi Iskar. For heavy vehicles traveling on the Sofia ring road, a ring road is planned through Chepinsko Shosse Street in Sofia and the Northern Speed tangent.
Construction activities include a complete replacement of the road surface, repair of facilities, improvement of drainage, replacement of road marking, and placement of new horizontal marking.
