The man who pushed a participant during the marathon in Sofia has been identified, the event organizers announced. The marathon, which was attended by nearly 3,000 professional and amateur athletes, took place on Sunday. At the beginning of the 10 km event, one of the competitors hit a Serbian competitor with his shoulder. She fell to the ground and knocked another participant down. When he fell, Olivera Jevtic suffered a bruise and abrasions on his legs.

“I can’t believe it happened. Sofia has always been an athletic center, I have participated in the Olympic Games, European and world championships and now, instead of enjoying my career, I talk about this unpleasant incident,” Olivera commented Jevtic.

Organizers say the participant who pushed Olivera Jevtic has been identified. His name is Boyan Vachev and he is 27 years old. I still want it.
“We have informed all the race organizers that this person will not be able to participate in athletic competitions. The sport itself is not aggressive. There is no motivation to suggest that such an act will happen, “said Anatoli Iliev, organizer of the Sofia Marathon.
A complaint has been filed for what happened in District 1 of the capital. The case was referred to the Minister of the Interior by letter. A copy of the letter was also sent to the Minister of Youth and Sports.
The Sofia District Prosecutor’s Office filed a complaint on its own. An inspection has been assigned, in the course of which it will be established whether there is sufficient data for a crime committed of a general nature and according to what text of the Penal Code.
Information has appeared on social media that it is not the first time that the man has behaved aggressively while running. And in the long history of the Sofia Marathon, this is the first incident of its kind.
