North Korea has a unique missile that may be … fake

North Korea has a new intercontinental missile. South Korea’s Defense Ministry said the new weapon was unveiled on Oct. 10 during a military show marking the 75th anniversary of the founding of the Workers’ Party, which has been in power since the end of World War II. Worldwide, AsiaNews.it reported.

An analysis of the images released by Pyongyang shows that the new weapon is larger than the ICBMs tested so far by the Kim Jong Un regime. According to the Seoul military, it can carry more warheads with a higher explosive charge than in the past – a major step forward for North Korea’s capabilities, also achieved during a severe economic crisis.

However, Seoul also said that North Korea’s new superweapon has yet to be fully appreciated – it could also be a fake model. Kim Jong Un ended military plans against South Korea last June. Earlier, the North Korean leader threatened to send troops to the demilitarized zone between the two countries. It responded to the publication of defamatory leaflets in North Korea by North Korean dissidents who fled to the south.

In fact, the two Koreas are still at war; Pyongyang and Seoul never signed a peace treaty at the end of the war in 1953. They did not sign a peace treaty, just a truce. After Kim Jong Un’s two meetings (in 2018 and 2019) with US President Donald Trump, North Korea has not conducted nuclear tests and has limited missile tests. Analysts say Pyongyang could use the Oct. 10 parade to resume talks with the United States on its nuclear program.
