The Serbian team, as a good neighbor, beat Poland 1-0 in a match in our group 5 of the European youth qualifiers. Therefore, Bulgaria’s chances of qualifying for Euro 2021 remain.
The only goal was scored by Nikolic in the 11th minute. The defeat left Poland in second place with 16 points, Bulgaria has 14 points after today’s win over Latvia.
There are 2 more games left until the end of the qualifying cycle, and in the next round our boys will enter a direct battle with the Poles for second place in the group, which gives the right to participate in the European Championship next year. The decisive match is only after 4 days, on October 13 in Gdynia.
Serbia remains in fourth place with 11 points, and Russia remains a convincing leader with 20 points, after defeating Estonia 4-0 today.
In the last round, Bulgaria faces outsider Estonia, which shares last position with Latvia, as both teams currently have 4 points.
