European funds for Bulgaria are “black caviar” for its oligarchs and must be stopped. A group of vampires sucks this beautiful country and its people. The cooperation and verification mechanism will be maintained because the Bulgarian people do not trust the judiciary and want the monitoring to continue. The Bulgarian MEPs tried to turn the discussion into a kind of internal political dispute with attacks on the gender and the coffers of the black parties with money from corruption. Angel Djambazki felt attacked and demanded punishment from the MRF for Ilhan Kyuchuk.
These are part of the conclusions of the debate on the rule of law in the European Parliament on Monday. The session discussed a critical resolution on the rule of law in Bulgaria. Its author is the president of the Civil Liberties Commission (LIBE) Juan Fernando López Aguilar. The document was adopted by LIBE before last week and was discussed in plenary on Monday. The resolution will finally be voted on this week.
We are talking about freedom of expression and the microphones have stopped
The beginning of the debate for Bulgaria was marked by a technical error. The microphones of the MEPs stopped several times. Finally, a ten minute break was required to reboot the system. Later, the vice-president of the European Commission, Vera Yourova, pointed out: “There was something symbolic in that the microphones failed just when we were talking about freedom of expression.”
At the beginning of the discussion, he said that although our country has made progress in recent years, more efforts are needed. Yourova added that it was “vital.” The cooperation and verification mechanism, which the Boyko Borissov government awaited with a sigh of relief, will continue to function.

A little later he found:
“We will keep the mechanism, because we see that the Bulgarian people are showing significant interest, they do not trust their judicial system, they sent us the message to continue monitoring what is happening.“.
Yourova, together with Justice Commissioner Didier Reynders, presented a few days ago the first report on the rule of law, in which the central issue was the inviolability of the Prosecutor General in Bulgaria.
Black caviar and vampires
Meanwhile, several MEPs have harshly criticized the government during three months of protests. Daniel Freund of the Greens said that he had been to Bulgaria and had personally met with the protesters. He asked them what they wanted and they all replied that Brussels should stop European money for Bulgaria. “This will remove the black caviar from the greedy oligarchs“he said.
Irish MP Claire Daly reiterated that Bulgaria and its citizens are being “sucked” by vampires and that they must stop eating. She said that people in our country are protesting against corruption, but it doesn’t matter, because Angela Merkel likes Prime Minister Borissov and Donald Tusk supports her. In Bulgaria, people in squares beat, spray and spray them with water cannons, he said. Clare explained that it was incredible that the parliament was willing to support new elections around the world, but denied this right to Bulgarians.

The only opposition to shut up
Even before the discussion, it was clear that the only Bulgarian MEP from the PPE group, which also includes GERB, Radan Kanev, will not have a chance to speak. This is decided by the group. That is why the Daily commented that the sole opponent was not given the floor. Hours earlier, Kanev himself was with the co-president of Democratic Bulgaria, Hristo Ivanov, in front of the European Parliament building. Professor Velislav Minekov from the “Poison Trio” was also in Brussels.
After not speaking, Kanev explained that he had submitted a written statement.
“The problem is simple, but also very serious: the mafia has taken over the judiciary and the media in a Member State. You may or may not support the Bulgarian government. Sometimes these are complicated political decisions. If you trust in government, “You can help him get rid of his dangerous addictions, a futile but noble endeavor. But denying the truth is not a choice, nor is it inaction when the rule of law is trampled on in a European country. It is not a choice, it is complicity, “he says.
Full support
Before the meeting, it was clear that GERB leader Boyko Borissov and his government would receive the full support of the EPP until the ordinary elections in March. The position was announced by the president of the PPE group, Manfred Weber, according to whom the PPE fully supports the Bulgarian government. “in its efforts to protect the economy from the negative effects of the Covid-19 crisis, in the fight against corruption and in the process of joining the euro area“.
According to him, political actions that “undermine the independence of the judiciary and hinder the fight against corruption will jeopardize Bulgaria’s success in Europe and reverse the concrete progress and support for Bulgaria that we have seen in recent years.”
“The European Commission’s assessment of the rule of law was fair and showed that improvements are needed. However, the government has made progress on many issues, bringing it closer to the euro and Schengen. I respect the protesters, but the March ordinary elections will decideWeber announced on Twitter.
Good chat with @BoykoBorissov over Bulgaria today. @EU_Commission The rule of law assessment was fair, showing that improvements are needed. However, the government has made progress on many issues by helping it #Euro #Schengen. The protesters are respected, but the ordinary elections in March will decide.

In the House, Weber made the same arguments. He explained that no one could claim that there was no freedom of expression in Bulgaria and said Prime Minister Borissov encouraged young people to express their opinions.
“It is not possible to change government through demonstrations, but through free elections, this will happen in March and the Bulgarians will make their decision.“Weber said.
Political interference in the work of the Prosecutor’s Office, in the activities of private companies, restrictions on the media. This is how the author of the resolution, Aguilar, described the situation in Bulgaria.
“What we are doing is not an attack, but a concern“He is stressed.
Romanian MEP Ramona Strugariu also called for the adoption of the resolution. She said that when Romanians protested in the streets and squares in 2017, she felt lonely, but that changed after the European Parliament voted on a resolution.
“I am here because the people of Bulgaria need this.“she said.
Commenting on the rule of law interferes with the rule of law
Bulgarian MEP Angel Djambazki spoke out against the resolution. He explained that the document was a majority left-wing resolution and asked how the authors came up with the issue of same-sex marriage and the Istanbul Convention.
He also concluded that politicians should not speak of the judiciary because it contradicts the rule of law. Djambazki explained that the authors of the resolution defended an ethnic group that violated the law. He then said that the Bulgarians associated the MRF name with the biggest corruption scandals.
After him, MRF deputy Ilahn Kyuchuk took the floor. He turned to Webre and explained that in Bulgaria an election campaign can only be conducted in Bulgarian for fear of a fine or to remain silent. And he asked him how he would campaign in our country if GERB nominated him as a deputy. Regarding the words of Djambazki Kyuchuk, he said that the coffers of the IMRO were the “golden passports”, alluding to the arrests at the agency for Bulgarians abroad, whose former head, appointed by the IMRO, is accused of participating in a group criminal.
“It was a flagrant personal attack“Dzambazki responded and demanded that Kyuchuk be punished according to parliamentary rules. The president promised to investigate the case.
