Milan achieved their third consecutive victory in Serie A this season, beating rookie Spezia 3-0 at San Siro. Guest striker Andrey Galabinov started as a starter, but was injured in the 31st minute. In all likelihood, the striker will not be restored for Bulgaria’s matches in the coming days.
Otherwise, the Rossoneri had difficulties in the first half, but after the break they decided everything after goals from Rafael Leao (57, 78) and Theo Hernández (76). Norwegian Jens Hauge, who was attracted a few days ago, made his debut for Milan.
Thus, Milan tied in points with Atalanta at the top of the standings. Both teams have 9, but Bergamas have a better goal difference of 13: 5 against 7: 0. The other positive moment for Stefano Pioli’s team is that in the third consecutive game of Serie A they did not concede a goal. Spice is 15th with 3 points after the first 3 rounds.
Milan experienced many difficulties in the face of the strong defense of the guests and rarely got into serious situations at the gate of La Spezia. On the other hand, the guests had two interesting positions in front of the door of the “Rossoneri”. In the 9th minute Galabinov broke down the right wing and tried a strong cross, but sent the ball into an area where there was no teammate.
In the 21st minute Donaruma had to show class after Davide Calabria directed the ball to his own goal, but the point guard managed to kill with the last effort.
After half an hour of play, Galabinov had to leave the field after suffering a sprain. At the end of the first half, Diaz and Salemakers still tried to give Milan the lead before the break, but their aim failed.
The second part started entirely to the taste of Milan. In the 57th minute, Hakan Chalhanoglu, who came in from the bench, crossed marvelously from a free kick, and Rafael Leao came out of the defenders and directed the ball into the net – 1: 0 for the Rossoneri.
Milan’s good game continued and in the 76th minute Theo Hernández scored a second goal. The Frenchman broke down the left wing, entered the penalty area and doubled the score with a diagonal shot.
Just two minutes later, Leoo scored a third goal. After focusing on the La Spezia penalty area, Frank Casey dropped the ball, and the Portuguese a few meters from the goal line put it into the net for 3-0.
Soon after, Chalhanoglu led Hernández, but this time the Frenchman’s diagonal shot was deflected. Until the end, the “Rossoneri” controlled the events and achieved a deserved third victory in a row in Serie A.
