The repair of the first 12 km of the compromised section between Chirpan and Stara Zagora on the Trakia highway on the Bourgas lane begins on Monday, reports RIA. This is the section after the “Belozem” road junction to Orizovo. Repair works are expected to be completed by the end of October, during which time traffic will take place in both directions on the highway to Sofia with a permissible speed of up to 70 km / h.

The connection of the highway junction “Plodovitovo” to the Orizovo – Plodovitovo – Parvomay highway will be closed. Travelers to Parvomay will be able to go off the highway at Chirpan.

Work will begin with the installation of the necessary signage and traffic signals, and as of Tuesday, actual construction work. It will include a complete replacement of the asphalt pavement, improved drainage, new horizontal markings, road signs and containment systems.

The repairs will be carried out by the state company Avtomagistrali, as there is a contract with the RIA for the maintenance of the highway.

Earlier it was clear that the repair of the entire 52 km long route will cost BGN 90 million for a single lane and will be carried out piece by piece, so as not to stop traffic entirely.

In this section, two of the three lanes are bent, the speed limit is 90 km per hour and in practice the traffic is only in the left lane, as drivers avoid the other two.
