At around 10:30 pm on September 30, 2020, on Knyaginya Maria Luiza Blvd., in the Lion’s Bridge area in the capital, an assassination attempt was carried out against the thirty-one-year-old DT. The man was stabbed, as a result of which the victim was stabbed in the chest.
The perpetrator of the act – AI (50 years old), from Lyulyakovo village, Kardzhali municipality, has been identified. He was presented as a defendant and detained by order of the prosecutor for up to 72 hours.
At today’s court hearing, the court accepted the arguments of the public prosecutor of the Sofia City Prosecutor’s Office that there was a real danger that defendant I. would run away and commit a crime.
The criminal act for which he has been prosecuted is serious, punishable by “imprisonment” for a minimum of ten years, and presents an extremely high degree of public danger. Furthermore, the accused does not have an established address in Sofia.
