The electric scooter rental company “Lime” (Lime) launched the service today in Plovdiv, but shortly after the start of the supply of vehicles, they were banned by the municipality, announced the radio “Focus” – Plovdiv. It turned out that an inspection by the Plovdiv Municipal Inspectorate, ordered by Mayor Zdravko Dimitrov, did not find that the company had a permit for the activity. Unlike Sofia in Plovdiv, there is no regulation for the use of electric scooters.

The municipal administration explained that on September 28 an email notification letter was received from the Municipality of Plovdiv regarding the company’s plans to start operations in the city of Plovdiv, without further administrative procedures being taken to issue permits.

“Plovdiv needs alternative and environmentally friendly transportation methods, we support this type of service and will be happy to provide it for the use of Plovdiv residents, but the rules apply to everyone and must be followed. A meeting with company representatives will be held soon. He clarified their intentions and the circumstances for the actions taken by them illegally and to find a solution, “said Mayor Zdravko Dimitrov.

Lime has been operating in Sofia since the end of last year.
