Montana beat Slavia 2-1 in a match on the eighth day of the efbet league. Toni Tasev (10) and Bilal Bari (29) scored for the locals, Georgi Valchev (22) scored for the “whites”. The defeat left the team of “Ovcha Kupel” in the penultimate place of the classification with only 4 points.
National team player Filip Krastev was injured before the break and tests will show if he will recover from the bombing with Hungary on 8 October.
The hosts could have gone ahead in the first minute, when Yanko Angelov hit the ground, but goalkeeper Steriakis took a corner. The pressure from Montana continued and two minutes later Toni Tasev tried to cross the ground, threateningly heading for the door, but was caught by a “white” guard.
Logically, he reached a goal at Slavia’s door. Toni Tasev scored in the 10th minute, dominating a cross from the right by Minkov and masterfully directing the ball behind Steriakis’s back.
A minute after Dimitar Iliev’s goal, Filip Krastev’s wild entry through the legs was a forced exchange of the “white” talent. The Montana footballer got rid of the yellow card, and the national limped away.
Substitute Georgi Valchev equalized in the 22nd minute after Kaloyan Krastev swerved to the right and held the ball skillfully. Seeing Valchev invade at high speed, he passed him in front of the arc of the penalty area and the midfielder masterfully sent the ball behind Makenjiev’s back.
In just seven minutes, Montana regained the advantage. This time, Toni Tasev played the role of assistant and scorer – Bilal Bari. Tasev broke from the left and passed the Moroccan, who promptly fired the ball into Slavia’s net 2: 1.
The second half started much quieter than the first and the positions in front of both gates were almost absent. Only Andrea Hristov’s shot in the 56th minute, brilliantly stopped by Makenjiev, will be remembered.
In an effort to turn the score around, Slavia coach Martin Kushev put veterans Dimitar Rangelov and Ventsislav Hristov in the lead.
Only in the 65th minute both teams woke up and in just 120 seconds they created work for the goalkeepers. First, Radi Kirilov missed a gift from Makenjiev and fired a wedding shot on the touch, and then Toni Tasev inaccurately fired after another solo breakthrough.
