SINCE The Ophi city prosecutor’s office has completed the investigation into the traffic accident in which journalist Milen Tsvetkov died, the prosecution announced.
At the moment, all the designated expert opinions have been prepared and, in view of their conclusion, the prosecution has specified the indictment against Kristian Nikolov, the driver of the car that collided with Tsvetkov’s car. Nikolov is accused of intentionally causing death by not following traffic rules.
The prosecution is about to present the materials of the case to the victims, as well as to the accused and his defense. Nikolov is in permanent detention.
The state prosecutor’s office added that according to experts’ reports, Nikolov drove the car after using three different drugs (amphetamine, tetrahydrocannabinol and cocaine) and at a speed much faster than allowed in the area.
He took no action to try to stop or slow down, despite the red light at the intersection.
