The old problems, as they were in 2017, continue today. This was stated by MP Krum Zarkov at a special BSP briefing on European reports on the observance of the rule of law in member states.

EC report: Bulgaria launches investigations against iconic figures

“For at least 4 years, the BSP has raised harsh criticism of the commission’s report several times, including censorship votes for the complete failure of the fight against corruption. No problem has been solved in those years, and several new ones, which are the subject of attention at the highest level in the EU, ”said the deputy.

“The old problems, as they were in 2017, continue today. And then there was talk of excessive power of the Attorney General and lack of a mechanism to control their actions, lack of opportunity for punishment. And then there were disputes about how to build the SJC, and this is already available, “he added.

Zarkov clarified that that is why people are in the square and there is a total degradation of the legislative process.

“The report is not a surprise to us, we have repeatedly highlighted these issues. It is time to understand and the commission should be afraid to say that there is no indication of a desire for change in any direction. The report does not mention the existence of such a will, “he added.
