A man died after being hit by a passenger train in Ruse. The train came from Gorna Oryahovitsa and, after a short stay at Ruse Central Station, shortly after 8 pm it left for the Distribution Station. A few meters from the Tovarna Gara train station, he struck a man who died on the spot, BNT reports.

BDZ announced that “the incident occurred after an illegal crossing of the railway line.”

The inspection of the place lasted more than two hours, during which trains stopped. The circumstances surrounding the incident are still being clarified.

Almost 2 years ago in the exact same place a 13-year-old boy died after being hit by a train. Although crossing is prohibited, pedestrians cross it regularly.

Just 200 meters away, in front of the Ruse University transport portal, there is a safe rail crossing, where an international high-speed train from Bucharest struck an old man in March this year.
