WHO praises Bulgaria for tackling pandemic

SINCE The veto health organization praised Bulgaria for dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic. This was stated by the WHO Regional Director for Europe, Dr. Hans Kluge, during a videoconference with Minister Kostadin Angelov.

According to Dr. Kluge, Bulgaria is currently successfully overcoming the challenges of COVID-19. The WHO Regional Director for Europe stressed that WHO supports our country in its efforts to limit the spread of coronavirus infection and its consequences.

Minister Angelov and Dr. Kluge also discussed the Biennial Cooperation Agreement for the period 2020-2021 between the Ministry of Health and the WHO Regional Office for Europe. Joint efforts will be aimed at providing universal health coverage and immunization coverage to the country’s population. Bulgaria and the World Health Organization will also cooperate to reduce the risk factors that lead to a high incidence of non-communicable diseases. The focus of the Biennial Cooperation Agreement is also the development of an integrated national health information system.
