TO Authorities in the breakaway Nagorno-Karabakh region say at least 26 of its soldiers were killed last night in clashes with Azerbaijani forces, Reuters and AFP reported.

In both conversations, the Secretary-General delivered the same message: an appeal for an immediate cessation of hostilities, the reduction of tensions and a return to negotiations without preconditions in the context of the efforts of the co-chairs of the Minsk Group before the OSCE.

The Swiss Foreign Ministry saidthat Switzerland supports the efforts of the Minsk Group to resolve the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict through negotiations and is ready to host a summit between Armenia and Azerbaijan. Bern is concerned about the escalation of fierce clashes between Armenia and Azerbaijan on September 27, the ministry said.
