Bulgarian forward Andrey Galabinov scored a goal on his return to Serie A. He signed for La Spezia in a 1: 4 loss to Sassuolo. His goal has historical value, as it is the first for the rookie in the Italian elite La Spezia. Galabinov could have scored a second goal in the 73rd minute, but his shot hit the crossbar.

The guests went ahead in the 12th minute with a goal from Filip Djuricic, Galabinov equalized with a header in the 30th minute. Seconds before the end of the first half, Lukatelli hit the crossbar after a foul, and shortly after the break the goal from Caputo was bypassed by an ambush.

In the second half, Spezia gave up and Sassuolo scored three unanswered goals. Domenico Berardi (64) from the penalty spot and Gregoire Defrel (66) in just two minutes gave the guests a comfortable lead. Italy’s Caputo made the final 4: 1 for Sassuolo in the 75th minute. After the break, former Levski midfielder Lokomotiv Plovdiv and Cherno More Mehdi Burabia appeared in the match for the guests.

Spice is home to the Dino Manuzzi Stadium, as construction work will be completed on the Alberto Alberto Pico club stadium for a few more weeks so that it can officially host the Serie A matches. Spezia’s team started the championship later, as the Serie B playoffs ended very late, in which the Ligurian club won the historic promotion.

Galabinov’s goal is his fourth in Serie A, after taking three goals for Genoa in his only season at Calcio – 2017/2018. The match was the first for the Bulgarian in 29 months in Italy’s elite.
