The scandal began after the mother of two students published a photo of the food that was given to the children at the 126 primary school in the capital. The woman claims that the portion is too small and the packaging is too expensive. According to the manager of the company, they observed the exact weight on request. The children received a serving of mashed potatoes and turkey as their main course. The total price of the menu, which includes soup and dessert, is BGN 4.50 per menu.
“The price of the portion offered is very high, including BGN 1 for plastic boxes, which cost 5 cents. Not to mention the amount of food, because this was a large portion that I posted, ”explained victim Milena Manolova.
Parents will choose what children will eat at school
As we talked with the mother, the manager of the supplier company joined the conversation. According to her, the portion weights are determined by regulations.
“When you put food on a large plate, visually it looks very small. The photo in question, which was leaked from a parent, then the cook had ordered, or mistakenly brought her, disposable bowls with a capacity of 750 ml” Silvia Simeonova explained.
While we were at school, we received more complaints and photos, this time from teachers. For a piece of pizza at a price of BGN 1.50 and a slice of yellow cheese. Fresh fruits and vegetables were missing. The school principal claims that he initially did not approve of the selected company.

The on-site inspection did not reveal any violations. Also, children eat in class, not in the chair. The reason is the repairs that continue. The district mayor insisted that if more serious violations are detected, the company will change.
