The photos of the prime minister’s bedroom in the “Sequoia” state village in “Boyana” are the work of “A beautiful lady”. The lady in question was sent by people close to President Rumen Radev to photograph everything while the prime minister was away. And although the footage is real, the captured wads of euros and gold should be considered manipulation, because there is no point in being in the drawer of the nightstand, and not in the locker in front of the door.
This was clear from the explanations of Prime Minister Boyko Borissov, who took another jeep tour to supervise the construction of the Hemus highway and to boast of the effectiveness of government measures against the coronary crisis.
President Rumen Radev, for his part, again accused the government of corruption on Thursday and commented that he saw no point in “pushing us to a staging in which dialogue would be an indulgence and forgiveness of ticket offices, corruption, records, etc.”
Elementary, but fantastic
Images of Borisov sleeping were distributed anonymously to the media in mid-June. They also show the nightstand next to his bed. There is a pistol on it and in the drawer: packages of 500 euros and investment gold bars. A little later, a video appeared of the rooms adjoining the bedroom. For a second in one of the mirrors you can see the photographer, a black-haired woman. The compromising images of the Bulgarian prime minister’s bedroom, with wads of euros in the drawer and a pistol on the nightstand, toured the world media. After the photos surfaced, Borissov said they were taken last year before the European elections. GERB MP Toma Bikov admitted that Tsvetan Tsvetanov was behind the whole affair. The prosecution has yet to reveal anything.
On Thursday, Borissov said he had long ago clarified how people close to President Radev had “cooked” him. His way of working was both elementary and the operation was police and fantastically executed, he specified:
“Many times I have clarified how insidiously its people, from their closest environment, cooked for me in a very simple way with a wonderful young lady who came and played all these things in my absence. They did it perfectly, hats off. They had studied the situation very well, they had been preparing for this moment for years. Their mistake was that they released the video, showing the bedroom, the house, it’s called death, their utility rooms, in my absence. If, for example, there was money, but he keeps gold, money and diamonds in a drawer, after the cash register, everyone knows who lived there, and I found him, this cash register is in front of the door, right in front of the door. So, as a police operation they did it fantastically, I take off my hat and it is not by chance that I repeat it. Because his closest entourage finished him“.
The prime minister did not reveal the name of the “lady” he was talking about. how the NSO guards let her into her room, with wads of euros and gold, which he later exported. In an earlier version of the case, Borissov said the president was observing him with a drone.
The NSO has already stated that people from the circle closest to the prime minister have easy access to his house and surely someone from this circle took the photos.
And it has records: hiccups and pain
The video and photos of Boyana’s house were preceded by several recordings, again distributed anonymously. In them, the prime minister discussed the Speaker of Parliament, Tsveta Karayancheva, as well as last year’s attempt by Eurohold to buy the electricity distribution company CEZ. In the recording, the prime minister said that he had ordered the Financial Supervision Commission to investigate the deal and threatened to smear someone’s face without making it clear who he was talking about.
The next entry appeared later. This conversation is said to be with former “Lukoil” director Valentin Zlatev.
There are also talks with the former chief prosecutor and current president of the Constitutional Court, Boris Velchev, as well as with Deputy Prime Minister Tomislav Donchev.
Their authenticity is not denied, but Borissov is trying to downplay them by claiming they are illegal. This is an old trick of hers. He reacted in the same way in 2013, when recordings of his house in Bankya were distributed. In addition to Borissov, former Agriculture Minister Miroslav Naydenov and former Sofia City Prosecutor Nikolai Kokinov were heard in them.
Now Borissov said that there were also recordings with the president.
“Someone was recording, playing something illegal. And her recordings, in which she hacks, cries text messages, hides an inspection, they are SRS legal. When we talk about some records, let’s talk about others. Is there any benefit to this? Not!“said the prime minister.
The main difference between the two cases is that the recordings with Radev were distributed by the prosecution. In them, the president discussed with the commander of the Air Force Tsanko Stoykov a control of KPKONPI against him and his wife Desislava Radeva. By law, Radev is not to be eavesdropped or monitored as he has immunity, but the formal justification is that someone else is in control and the head of state simply “runs” in the SRS. At the same time, the prosecutor’s office fully accepted Borissov’s thesis and opened a case for illegal registration. He promised to check all the facts, that is. and photos, and records, but he explained that gold, for example, cannot be examined with just a frame.
Radev: people with full lockers cannot invite people with empty lockers
At the same time, President Rumen Radev spoke at Graf Ignatievo Air Base, where he was watching a joint air exercise with US Ambassador Hero Mustafa.
“I don’t see any point in pushing us into a production in which dialogue is an indulgence and a pardon: for the lockers, for a vicious form of management, for corruption, for the records. People with full lockers cannot invite those with empty lockers to speak“, said the head of state.
At the end of last week, Deputy Prime Minister Krassimir Karakachanov proposed the creation of a cabinet of experts and asked Radev and Borissov to join. However, this idea was categorically rejected by Radev. He noted that for there to be a dialogue, there must be “revelation of the truth about all the corruption schemes that have happened and continue to happen in Bulgaria, because that is how the vicious model will continue.
Borissov also called for Erdogan’s services to be held accountable.
“There should also be a clear response to SPIEGEL posts, where there are allegations that the Bulgarian state government has put itself at the service of a foreign state. We must address with clear criteria everything that threatens our national security“he pointed.
Earlier, the German magazine SPIEGEL launched its own investigation, citing secret reports from the Turkish embassy in Sofia. According to him, the Bulgarian government and then-chief prosecutor Sotir Tsatsarov helped Turkey to persecute various opponents of the regime in Ankara.
