Bulgarian Kristalina Georgieva is among the 100 most influential people in the world for 2020 in the ranking of the American magazine “Time” along with Trump, Merkel and Ursula von der Leyen. The director of the International Monetary Fund is included in the category “Titans”, which includes the head of “Google” Sundar Pichai.
For the third year in a row, Vladimir Putin is not on the most influential list. Before that, the Russian president was in the “Leaders” category, which includes politicians, businessmen, and members of the public.
The text on Georgieva, prepared for the Time ranking, was written by the former president of the World Bank, Robert Zoellick. “Kristalina Georgieva is the IMF’s first managing director of emerging markets and has personally seen the opportunities and dangers” of economic reforms, she said. She added that a decade ago she surprised Brussels by coming from Bulgaria and becoming a “star of the European Commission”.

The Titans category, which includes Kristalina, also includes the world’s richest woman, Mackenzie Scott, the ex-wife of Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, and Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell.
Artists include cellist Yo-Yo Ma and actress Selena Gomez, and the Black rights movement is in the “Icons” section.
