The Council of Ministers has decided to extend the term of the declared emergency epidemic situation from October 1, 2020 to November 30, 2020.

The COVID-19 pandemic remains a serious national and global public health emergency, the Council of Ministers said.

According to the European Center for Disease Prevention and Control, as of September 19, 2020, there had been 30,540,446 confirmed cases of COVID-19 worldwide. The dead are already 952,724.

The incidence in the European Union / European Economic Area and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland is 2,808,711 or 9.2% of the total number of infected. The dead are 185,945.

In Bulgaria, the unfavorable development of the epidemic situation continues, due to the high mortality from infections caused by the new coronavirus, in a context of decrease in morbidity and maintenance of the level of hospital treatment of patients with moderate and severe clinical symptoms.
