In messages dedicated to Bulgaria’s Independence Day, Prime Minister Boyko Borissov called for dialogue and reconciliation, and President Rumen Radev for revealing the truth about corruption.

“Even today, people insist on economic and cultural progress and I am convinced that nothing should hinder our country on this path. That is why I support every vote in this direction. But I will not tire of saying that the Bulgarian people are a people. peaceful, that success is achieved through dialogue, not opposition. Division was not and will not be a successful formula in politics, and the events of 112 years ago demonstrate this. And then, and today, unity is what that we must put in the heart of any country. The lessons remain both for society and for political leaders, “Borissov said in a message posted on Facebook.

He called September 22, 1908 “a brilliant movement of Bulgarian diplomacy and political elite,” but explained that earlier partisan contradictions had been rejected because of the national ideal.

“This is an example of how measured and courageous actions achieve a long-awaited goal, especially important for our development, self-confidence and international standing. Today, only independent states can effectively defend their national interests. Membership of the EU it has given us a place among modern and democratic countries “where the guarantee of freedom and civil rights is above all. However, independence is not a fact, it requires determination and responsibility to maintain it, “he added.

Borissov explains that energy projects and military agreements have strengthened “our Euro-Atlantic development direction, defending above all the Bulgarian national interest.”

Earlier, the deputy prime minister and IMRO leader, Krassimir Karakachanov, called for reconciliation between the prime minister and the president and the formation of an expert government.

The president’s response was that any talk of reconciliation between the president and the government and the formation of an expert government could not take place without clarifying the problems of corrupt practices in power.

“Dialogue only makes sense if it is put on a solid foundation. This unquestionably means clarifying the truth about records, lockers, corrupt schemes. Let’s find out what are the mechanisms that lead to management failure, what are the mechanisms that lead to this vicious model of government: how to remove them, how to restore justice, “Radev told reporters in Boyadzhik village in Yambol, as quoted by bTV.

He expressed his gratitude “to all vigilant citizens” protesting against the “moral decline and dependence of a few” in power.

On Prime Minister Boyko Borissov’s comment the day before that Bulgaria’s political fate will be decided in regular parliamentary elections, Radev explained that the ruling party is fighting only for its survival.
