“I will not use negative vocabulary and red lines regarding Bulgaria,” RS Foreign Minister Buyar Osmani said today.

“We must not destroy communication. It is in the interests of the Republic of Bulgaria that the entire region is integrated into the European Union,” the Chancellor stressed.

Osmani said today that he is optimistic that the joint Macedonian-Bulgarian commission on historical and educational issues will find a solution to the problem with Gotse Delchev.

“I believe in the professional and scientific ability of our historians to find common ground in this part,” he said.

When asked if the Commission does not reach a solution with Delchev on how the policy will address the request from Bulgaria, whose condition is that the issues are closed until the start of negotiations, Osmani replied:

“I would not speak beforehand, I would leave the possibility for the commissions to meet and try to find a common language, that is. to reconcile these differences of interpretation. Nor do I want to be pessimistic that they won’t. “Since they managed to find a common text that is acceptable to both parties for very important historical figures, I think they will find a common text that will interpret these differences for the other historical figures on this list,” Osmani said.

Karakachanov: EP puts systematic pressure on Bulgaria

He reiterated that all communication on matters with Bulgaria will be carried out in accordance with the Neighborhood Agreement plan, emphasizing that communication between the two countries is the best way to overcome differences.

In this plan, Article 2 states that the Republic of Bulgaria will support the Euro-Atlantic integration of North Macedonia and we will insist that this plan and this agreement be respected. That is why we insist that all communication be carried out within the framework provided in the agreement, since it is in the common interest of both parties, ”said Osmani.

He stressed that while the two trajectories collide, there will be no results in overcoming differences in the interpretation of historical figures, nor advances in political and economic communication between the two countries.

He recalled that there is already a consensual text for various historical figures, for various historical periods, which have already been proposed as a text by the two governments in order to harmonize the texts of the textbooks.

It is up to us to create preconditions on the basis of the Treaty so that the commissions run smoothly, to achieve goodwill on a parity basis, to find solutions to find points of connection and points of common interest, because the future lies in cooperation. joint between the countries of the region. Osmani said.
