According to him, there may be a slight increase in cases, highlighting that the infected students and teachers identified so far have not been infected at school. So far, more than 500 students have been quarantined.

With the contact of students now, after the first week at school, an increase in the number of patients is expected, Kantardzhiev added, but it is important in some places how the measurements are observed, he explained.

Kantardzhiev also commented on the movement of the disease in our country in recent months.

After the summer of September, there has been a slight decrease in COVID-19 infections, he said.

Kantardzhiev insisted that the masks reduce the spread of the infection. He gave an example that if we have a spread rate of 1 to 2 or a person infects two, when masks are used, it becomes 1 to 1.

Kantardzhiev was outraged by irresponsible talk, even from fellow doctors, that the virus was weak and masks were being neglected.

There is not a single scientific article against masks, Professor Kantardzhiev was categorical, adding that as we enter flu season, additional masks create protection against them.

The emergency situation will continue until the end of November, said the director of the Center for Infectious and Parasitic Diseases.

It is too much to go back to having isolation in houses, Kantardzhiev said, adding that he hopes this does not happen.
