Just over a week ago, a man became a hero and in the last seconds of his life managed to save an entire soccer team. On the unfortunate night, Nako Velyanov suffered a massive heart attack while behind the wheel of a bus, but managed to pull off one last decisive maneuver for the passengers. It turns out that Nako’s life story is worthy of a movie.
Traffic accident with a bus on the “Trakia” highway
A few hours before the incident, Nako Velyanov, 67, and part of the Belasitsa Petrich team were accidentally photographed by a teammate in front of the bus. At this point, no one knows that in just a few minutes Nako will set out on her last journey.
After another victory, spirits were lifted on the bus. The team is happy, also the pilot, who is one of the biggest fans of “Belasitsa” Petrich. Everything looks wonderful. Until a time when, at kilometer 70 of the Trakia highway, the bus tipped over and fell into a nearby ditch.
“I saw the bus pull off the road and I yelled, ‘You’re getting off the road, you’re getting off the road. Come back, come back “, says Ivan Zlatinski, manager of OFK” Belasitsa – Petrich “.
The reason the driver lost control of the vehicle was a massive heart attack. With the last of his life, however, he managed to make one last maneuver, thanks to which the bus did not overturn. And so, in his last seconds, Nako Velyanov saved more than 20 lives.
“In such a case, when you think about what could have happened, you can say that he is a hero. The team survived thanks to the driver and the help of God,” shares Zlatinski.
“After all, this is heroism – feeling like you’re leaving and saving people,” said the late driver’s son Stoyan Velyanov.
Nako and her son listened to each other for the last two hours before the incident. “It sounded pretty good on the phone, I was happy about the club’s victory,” Stoyan recalled. However, she found out what happened to her father through social networks.
“I picked up the phone to ring, but he didn’t answer, and then we went straight to the crash site,” she said.
An accident hinders the movement of the Struma highway towards Pernik
Nako turns out to be an ordinary man with an extraordinary destiny. Our team met him 4 years ago. To tell us about his life. And only in the NOVA archives is there a story that has not yet been passed down, one that only life can direct.
“Nako is a man who cannot be forgotten. His story is worthy of a movie. We kept in touch for years because he really wanted us to tell his story. Due to various circumstances, we have not told him until now,” shared the reporter from NOVA Vladislava Trichkova, who filmed Nako 4 years ago.
According to the documents, he was born in the Mother’s House in Sofia and was later abandoned. He is adopted at the age of one year. And from then until his last day he lived in Petrich. He also understands from his friends that somewhere in Pernik there is a man who looks a lot like him.
“They saw it in Pernik and they said: you have one that looks a lot like you. I had it as a double. “
“It just came to our knowledge then. This happened in 1973, when we were soldiers with him, by accident. He was a soldier in Blagoevgrad. I was in Sofia and trained in Slavia athletics. After training, I went to the bus to go to the unit. and at the stop I heard a voice saying: look at it without a mirror, so far without focus, I turned my head and at that moment I saw my image sitting on a bench.
It turns out that Nako’s adoptive parents have known about their twin all their life.
“Then I started talking to them … why did they separate us and tell me: they took him away, you were alone. Then, over time, when I asked his parents the same question and they said the same thing: they took you, he was alone, ”says Nako.
Without adrenaline during their first meeting, Nako and her brother Hristo do not exchange contacts. Then her path parted again. “I wanted to see him, but he had no connection. While one day, one of the neighbors, sent on a business trip to Pernik, met my brother, started talking to him. My brother ignores him because he does not know him and comes here and he says: “Abe, I saw you in Pernik, I wanted something, you passed me.” And I said, “Are you going to go back to Pernik?” “Yes, he says, I’m going again.” man, tell him to order me to see you in Petrich. He gave me my words, my brother came here without telling me he was coming, he left with my parents, they took him away.

Nako finds out what happened the next time her brother tries to meet.
“It occurs 3-4 months after this case. He told the neighbor that he would come that day and I was waiting for him at the station. However, fate is playing with us like this, I couldn’t see him at the station. And I tell myself : If you have taken the city bus, it will get off in the center and I will go on foot. I see a downstairs neighbor who comes to me and says: “Didn’t you come home a while ago?” I froze in place, I turned around and went home. My brother is sitting at a table, my father is on the other side and we have no quarrel or anything. And since then our relationship has turned with him. If we were two eggs, we would not know him, but We are an egg, we look alike. Fate is a good scriptwriter, very good. And then I got married. My son was born. We introduced him to one of my wife’s cousins and they got married and started a family. “
Over the years, the two adult siblings understand the details of their biological origins. They learn that at birth their biological mother gave them names, so in the first year of his life, Nako was called Bozhidar, and his brother Hristo, Bogomil.
“God’s gift, God’s gift and the Bogomil, were you God’s gift to her? I may have been God’s gift, but since God gave her this gift, why did she leave us?” Nako asks.
The two never manage to answer this question. However, fate shows that, in addition to her family, Nako is a gift from God and for an entire soccer team.
