The life of the man who managed to save an entire soccer team is worthy of a movie, reports Nova TV.
“24 Hours” posthumously nominated 67-year-old Nako Velyanov, who suffered a heart attack, as a worthy Bulgarian. You can read more about him and the award HERE.
“After all, this is heroism – feeling like you’re leaving and saving people,” said the son of the late driver of the unfortunate Belasitsa team bus, Petrich Stoyan Velyanov.
Just over a week ago, a man became a hero, saving more than 20 people in the last seconds of his life.
On the unfortunate night, Nako Velyanov suffered a massive heart attack while behind the wheel of a bus, but managed to pull off one last decisive maneuver for the passengers.
A few hours before the incident, Nako Velyanov, 67, and part of the Belasitsa Petrich team were accidentally photographed by a teammate in front of the bus.
After another victory, spirits were lifted on the bus. The team is happy, the driver is also happy, he is one of the biggest fans of “Belasitsa” Petrich. At kilometer 70 of the Trakia Highway, the bus tips over and falls into a nearby ditch.
“I saw the bus pulling off the road and I yelled, ‘You’re getting off the road, you’re getting off the road.’ Come back, come back, “said Ivan Zlatinski, manager of OFK Belasitsa-Petrich.
The reason the driver lost control of the vehicle was a massive heart attack. With the last of his life, however, he managed to make one last maneuver, thanks to which the bus did not overturn. And so, in his last seconds, Nako Velyanov saved more than 20 lives.
“In that case, when you think about what could have happened, you can say he is a hero. The team survived … thanks to the pilot and God’s help,” Zlatinski said.
Nako and her son listened to each other for the last two hours before the incident. “It sounded pretty good on the phone, I was happy about the club’s victory,” Stoyan recalled. However, she found out what happened to her father through social networks.
“I picked up the phone to ring, but he didn’t answer, and then we went straight to the crash site,” she said.
Nako turns out to be an ordinary man with an extraordinary destiny.
According to the documents, he was born in the Mother’s House in Sofia and was later abandoned, Nova TV reports. He is adopted at the age of one year. And from then until his last day he lived in Petrich. He also understands from his friends that somewhere in Pernik there is a man who looks a lot like him.
“They saw it in Pernik and they say: you have one that looks a lot like you. I had it double.”
“The moment we met. It happened in 1973, when we were soldiers with him, by accident. He was a soldier in Blagoevgrad. I was in Sofia and I trained in Slavia athletics. After training I went to the bus to go At the drive and at the stop I heard a voice saying: look at it without a mirror – until now without a focus, I turned my head and at that moment I saw my image sitting on a bench.
It turns out that Nako’s adoptive parents have known about their twin all their life.
“Then I started talking to them … why did they separate us and tell me: they took him away, you were alone. Then, over time, when I asked his parents the same question and they said the same: they took you, he it was just, ”says Nako.
Without adrenaline during their first meeting, Nako and her brother Hristo do not exchange contacts. Then her path parted again. “I wanted to see him, but he had no connection. Until one day, one of the neighbors, sent on a business trip to Pernik, met my brother and started talking to him. My brother paid no attention to him because he did not know him and came here and he said: “Abe, I saw you in Pernik, I wanted something, you passed me.” And I said, “Are you going to Pernik again?” “Yes, he says, I’m going again.” And I scream – this man when you see him You tell him to order me to see him in Petrich, he gave me my words, my brother came here without telling me he was coming, he went to see my parents, they threw him out.
Nako finds out what happened the next time her brother tries to meet.
“It occurs 3-4 months after this case. He told the neighbor that he would come that day and I am waiting for him at the station. However, fate is playing us like this, I couldn’t see him at the station. And he said: If you take the city bus, you get off in the center and I walk. I see a neighbor get off and he says: “Didn’t you come home a while ago? I froze in place, turned around, and headed home. My brother is sitting at a table, my father is on the other side and we don’t have a dispute or anything. And since then our relationship has turned with him. If we were two eggs, we would not know him, but we are one egg, we are alike. Fate is a good screenwriter, very good. And then I got married. My son was born. We introduced him to one of my wife’s cousins and they got married and started a family. “
Over the years, the two adult siblings understand the details of their biological origins. They learn that at birth their biological mother gave them names, so in the first year of his life, Nako was called Bozhidar, and his brother Hristo, Bogomil.
“The gift of God, the gift of God and the Bogomil, if you were the gift of God to her, I could have been a gift of God, but since God gave her this gift, why did she leave us?” Nako asks.
The two never manage to answer this question. However, fate shows that, in addition to her family, Nako is a gift from God and for an entire soccer team.
