On Sunday, Prime Minister Boyko Borissov took a jeep tour of the villages of the Rhodopes. He promised the locals that he was registering the Velingrad villages and that the government would provide a budget of BGN 50-100 million for the roads in these settlements. During his tour, Borisov discussed with the locals in the village of Grashevo whether Peevski and Tsvetanov had done anything for these areas after visiting them.
“They are speaking on behalf of the people. It was a popular uprising. Well, these are more than the protesters, they just came here to say about the work done, what we did. Who came? Tsvetanov and Peevski did nothing. That’s what they say. Or maybe they did, they didn’t see each other “Borisov said.
At the same time, Tsvetanov held the initiative committee in Sofia to establish his new Republican party for Bulgaria.
The prime minister took advantage of the moment to indirectly attack the formations that support the ongoing 74-day protests demanding the resignation of the government and chief prosecutor Ivan Geshev.
They speak highly of the yellow cobblestones, but come to these regions and see. Besides GERB and MRF, what war and what battle is being fought between the two sides. Let them come and see how much of “Yes, Bulgaria”, from BSP, from Maya Manolova. Let them come here, where the war is between GERB and MRF and the mayors are only from these two parties. Let them come here and see who is who in this situation. “ said the prime minister, leading Deputy Minister of Regional Development Nikolay Nankov in the back seat.
